About Us

Our relationship to food is a central one that reflects our attitudes toward our environment and ourselves. As a practice Mindful Eating can bring us awareness of our own actions, thoughts, feelings and motivations, and insight into the roots of health and contentment.

The purpose of the Center for Mindful Eating is to help professionals and institutions implement principles and practices of Mindful Eating.

The Center is charged with
• Holding and sharing The Principles of Mindful Eating
• Refining and deepening understanding of the principles through dialog, debate, experience and training

The Center will embody principles of mindfulness in its structure and functioning. In part this means that the Center is open to wisdom arising from experience. It is understood that the work is a process and that the organization must evolve and adapt as new information and understandings come about. Communications will be informed by the following values: truthfulness, respect, kindness, cooperation and concord - bringing people together.

Funding for the Center for Mindful Eating will be from several sources:
• Grants
• Membership dues
• Donations
• Sale of related products and teaching aids
• Fees for consultations and supervision
• Fees for trainings.
